Other Groups

Altar Guild

Maintains the sanctuary's sacred elements and liturgical items. Prepares communion vessels, cares for linens and paraments, arranges flowers, ensures the altar is properly set for services, and handles cleaning of sacred objects. Works closely with worship planning.

Board of Education

This team coordinates educational opportunities across the congregation, including Sunday School, the library, Vacation Bible School, and support for the ECC in partnership with the preschool director.

Campus Ministry

Focuses on outreach to students and young adults, often working with local schools, colleges, or universities. Coordinates student events, campus worship services, and youth engagement activities. Connects with university chaplaincies and organizes service projects or mission trips for younger demographics.

Elders

Elders provide spiritual oversight and pastoral care to the congregation. Visit homebound members, lead prayer ministries, assist with communion distribution during services, and support the pastor in shepherding the flock. Often handle membership matters and spiritual counseling referrals.

Evangelism

Leads outreach efforts to connect new people with the church. Develops visitor follow-up systems, creates welcoming initiatives, plans community outreach events, and trains members in sharing their faith. Focuses on growth and making the church accessible to non-members.

Parish Planning

Handles long-term strategic planning for the congregation. Conducts visioning exercises, analyzes demographic trends, develops multi-year goals, and assesses ministry effectiveness. Often leads capital campaigns or major initiative planning.

Stewardship

Manages financial giving campaigns and teaches biblical stewardship principles. Runs annual pledge drives, tracks contributions, develops financial education materials, and encourages generous giving patterns. Often coordinates the budget input process for the congregation.

Trustees

Handle legal and property matters for the congregation. Oversee building maintenance contracts, insurance, zoning compliance, and any real estate transactions. Serve as the legal representatives for the church in official matters and ensure proper governance documentation.

Ushers

Manage the physical flow and hospitality during worship services. Greet visitors, distribute bulletins, manage seating, collect offerings, handle emergencies, and ensure orderly services. Often the first point of contact for newcomers.
