Lead Teacher - Toddler Class
Sherly Birsching joined the team at Zion in October of 2024. She is originally from Benton Harbor but recently moved back to Clare after living 33 years in Tacoma, WA. Sheryl comes from a long family history of pastors and teachers. She graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She started a one-room Lutheran elementary school, homeschooled her children, started one Lutheran preschool and licensed another, and spent 25 years in classrooms teaching children from age 1 to grade 8. Sheryl has been married to her pastor husband for 37 years. They have six children, four grandchildren and another grandchild due this summer. In her free time, Sheryl enjoys baking, reading, writing, traveling, scrapbooking, sports, puzzles, and playing cards and board games. Her favorite thing about teaching is building relationships with the children and families and connecting them to Jesus!
